The G-Shock MRG-B5000HT-1 is the first peak MRG-B5000 model to feature a hammer tone pattern on the bezel and band and is limited to 500 watches worldwide (with serial number). The distinctive patterns on the titanium bezel and titanium band are created by hand with the traditional Japanese “tsuiki” hammering technique by craftsman Kazuya Watanabe.

Hammer tone patterns have appeared on previous MR-G models, and this is the first time that it appears on an origin-based square (5000-5600). Watanabe used the “yuragi” (fluctuating) hammering technique, which results in organic variations in shape and depth.

Made in Japan at Casio’s Premium Production Line, the MRG-B5000HT-1 features Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6, Bluetooth smartphone link, sapphire glass, and a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating on the bezel and band. It is fully shock-resistant and water-resistant to 200 meters. Unlike other MRG-B5000 models that have a Cobarion bezel which would have been too hard to hammer, the bezel is made of DAT55G titanium which about three times harder than pure titanium.

The G-Shock MRG-B5000HT-1 will be released in August 2024 in Japan and Asia, with limited availability in other regions expected to follow. In Japan, the MRG-B5000HT-1JR has a price of 935,000 yen (around US$6,387).
