  • Lighter than MTG-B1000 models with stainless steel band and slightly thinner.
CONS
  • Carbon monocoque case makes at-home battery replacement difficult if not impossible (but you should probably send expensive models like this to an authorized service center anyway).
  • No battery level indicator, but the second hand will move two seconds at a time to show low battery status.

  • The G-Shock MTG-B1000 was a precursor to Carbon Core Guard models and represented a shift toward smaller and slimmer designs with its carbon fiber-reinforced case. The MTG-B1000 was also the first MT-G model to be equipped with Bluetooth. MT-G stands for “Metal Twisted G-Shock” and is named for its use of stainless steel exterior parts.
