USA gets first G-Shock GST-B500 model with GSTB500BD1A9

The new black and gold G-STEEL series includes the GSTB100GB1A9, GSTB400GB1A9, and GSTB500BD1A9.

For unknown reasons, none of the five G-Shock G-STEEL GST-B500 launch models were released in the United States, and the new black and gold GSTB500BD1A9 (left, $380) is the first GST-B500 model to be released there. The U.S. is also getting the larger GSTB100GB1A9 (middle, $420) with full analog display and the GSTB400GB1A9 (right, $390), which are also black and gold G-STEEL models. All three models feature Tough Solar power and Bluetooth smartphone link.

The GST-B500 is the thinnest G-STEEL model to date. The clean and simple dial layout is similar to the 2100 line. The GST-B500 is a slightly more affordable alternative to the GM-B2100 for those who prefer a round bezel, but it does not have a stainless steel center case like the full metal GM-B2100.

Unlike the other two models, the GSTB100GB1A9 is fully analog and has three analog hands but is thicker and wears larger.

The GSTB400GB1A9 is a slimmer G-STEEL model and is relatively light when paired with the resin band.

As part of the recent GST-B500 family, the GSTB500BD1A9 is the slimmest G-STEEL watch, but it is heavier than the other two resin-band models when paired with the stainless steel band.
