Full metal G-Shock GMW-B5000D-1C and GM-B2100SD-1C with origin (DW-5000C-1A) color accents

Casio is introducing the G-Shock GMW-B5000D-1C and GM-B2100SD-1C in June 2025 (starting in Japan), featuring color accents based on the original G-Shock DW-5000C-1A, which was one of two models of the first-ever G-Shock series release from 1983. According to Casio, the red represents the passion to take on challenges, while the blue symbolizes water resistance, and the yellow symbolizes shock resistance. Both of these made-in-Japan watches have Tough Solar power and a full metal structure including a stainless steel case with a screw lock back. The GMW-B5000D-1C has Multi-Band 6 automatic radio time adjustment and Bluetooth smartphone link, and the GM-B2100SD-1C has Bluetooth smartphone link which also offers automatic time adjustment with the Casio Watches smartphone app. The GM-B2100SD-1C is one of only two current GM-B2100 models with a positive (i.e. non-inverted) LCD display, which some may find advantageous in terms of legibility. (The other is the silver GM-B2100AD-5A with a copper-colored dial, and a third discontinued model is mentioned below.)

Other popular and recent releases with a similar color theme based on the DW-5000C-1A include the GW-M5610U-1, DW-5000R-1A (a more direct DW-5000C-1A revival), the RL Series, and the GA-B2100-1A, although some of the square models lack the brick-pattern background, which is usually reserved for more expensive origin-tribute models. (The GW-5000HS-1 and GW-5000HS-7 also have the same face design but in a monochromatic style.)

This is the first time that the DW-5000C-1A colors have appeared on GMW-B5000 and GM-B2100 models along with silver bezels and bands, but they have appeared on black full metal models before. The very limited Porter x G-Shock GMW-B5000TFC-1 from 2018 had a black DLC coating on the bezel and band. The limited Porter x G-Shock GM-B2100VF-1A from 2023 also had the origin-themed colors with a black aged ion plating, gold hands, and a positive LCD display.

The GMW-B5000TFC-1 and GM-B2100VF-1A limited editions featured origin-themed colors with black bezels and bands.

The GMW-B5000D-1CJF and GM-B2100SD-1CJF have a price of 84,700 yen each in Japan. Both models are expected to be released worldwide.
