Casio announced another G-Shock 35th Anniversary series to be released in November 2017 in Japan and Asia. The G-Shock 35th Anniversary Gold Tornado Collection includes three high-end models and features a black and gold design with red inner band layers. A gold ion plating is applied to the metallic parts to celebrate the April 2018 anniversary while the black and red pay tribute to the classic G-Shock color scheme. Like the first 35th anniversary series, the Big Bang Black Collection, the strap keeper and engraved case back feature special 35th Anniversary graphics designed by Eric Haze, and a commemorative “Since 1983” red text adorns the face. The Gold Tornado models include the GPW-2000TFB-1AJR Gravitymaster, G-STEEL GST-B100TFB-1AJR, and GWF-D1035B-1JR Frogman.
Update: G-Shock Japan announced a November 2017 release for the Gold Tornado Collection: GPW-2000TFB-1AJR (list price ¥110,000 JPY), GST-B100TFB-1AJR (list price ¥90,000 JPY), and GWF-D1035B-1JR (list price ¥135,000).
Update 2: Casio America announced the G-STEEL GSTB100TFB-1A (list price $750 USD), GPW2000TFB-1A Gravitymaster (list price $900 USD), and GWFD1035B-1 Frogman (list price $1,100 USD) for a December 2017 release.
Update 3: Casio announced the GPW-2000TFB-1A, GST-B100TFB-1A, and GWF-D1035B-1 for a December 2017 release in Asia.
G-Shock GPW-2000TFB-1A Gravitymaster
Base model is the GPW-2000, the premier G-Shock aviation watch. G-Shock GWF-D1035B-1 Frogman
Base model is the GWF-D1000, the premier G-Shock diving watch. Standout features include Tough Solar, Multi-Band 6, Triple Sensor (with water depth meter, compass, and thermometer), tide graph, ISO-standard 200-meter water resistance, stainless steel inner case, sapphire crystal, and carbon fiber insert band. I don’t think they publicized the production quantity for this series. Yes anniversary watches will increase in value. However it might not be so easy to sell these due to the high prices.
Yes I agree with you. I find that the Frogman and some fully digital G Shocks are overpriced. Quartz may fail one day. Can you fond another similar module to replace a faulty one? What about the cost of repair? Authenticity issues will arise then.
