Is the G-Shock Mudman GW-9300 being discontinued?

The G-Shock Mudman GW-9300 may be following the same pattern as other recently discontinued Master of G series like the Gravitymaster GWR-B1000 and Gulfman GW-9110, which were discontinued after being sold out at the official Casio Japan website. The GW-9300-1JF is currently sold out at Casio Japan, and G-Shock Store inventory data shows that it is also sold out in most stores with just two branches having “only a few left.” It is still in stock at other Japanese retailers, and we’ll be keeping an eye on the situation.

Introduced in 2011, the GW-9300 was the fourth series of Mudman along with the G-9300, and those two series are the smallest G-Shock watches with a Twin Sensor (compass and thermometer). We believe that the GW-9300 is still a worthwhile watch that presents a unique option for a mud-resistant and compass-equipped G-Shock, but at this stage it would be better served with an LED backlight instead of the EL backlight. With the recent introduction of the more advanced Mudman GW-9500 with the Triple Sensor and dual-layer display, it seems more likely that Casio would discontinue the GW-9300 rather than release an updated version.

If the GW-9300 is discontinued, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the G-9300 will also be discontinued. (The G-9300 is an international version without Multi-Band 6 and the carbon fiber insert band.) The G9300-1 is still in stock at casio.com/us, and the G-9300-1 is still in stock in Singapore. There are instances of some G-Shock series being discontinued in Japan but still active in other countries, such as the Mudman G-9000.
