G-Shock and non-profit conservation group The Charles Darwin Foundation are collaborating for a trio of limited edition GW-B5600CD watches with a Galapagos Islands theme. The watches include the black and blue GW-B5600CD-1A2, black and green GW-B5600CD-1A3, and yellow GW-B5600CD-9, all with positive (non-inverted) LCD displays and
a nature-themed patterned face. This series is the second GW-B5600 release of 2023, following the black and yellow GW-B5600CY-1.
Each watch has a unique LED backlight graphic and an engraved case back with a tortoise logo. The Spanish phrase “Apoyo la conservación de Galápagos” is printed on the lower band, meaning “I support the preservation of the Galapagos.” In keeping with the conservation theme, these models are made from bio-based resins and come in environmentally-friendly packaging.
The GW-B5600 has the same functions as the full metal GMW-B5000 and full carbon GCW-B5000, such as Tough Solar, Multi-Band 6 auto radio time adjustment, and Bluetooth smartphone link. These models measure 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 millimeters and weigh 53 grams each.
In Japan, the series will be released on December 8, 2023, with a tax-included price of 26,400 yen each. The series is also expected to be released worldwide.
