G-Shock supporter Ciryl Gane is the UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion

G-Shock-supporting UFC fighter Ciryl Gane defeated Derrick Lewis by TKO to claim the interim heavyweight title. Gane put on a masterful performance, picking Lewis apart from range for two rounds before finishing him in the third. Gane is now 7-0 in the UFC and is expected to face Francis Ngannou next for the undisputed heavyweight title.

In the lead-up to the fight, Gane was seen wearing G-Shock watches in the preview videos, pre-fight press conference, weigh-ins, and standoffs. It was also revealed that he shot a commercial for the G-Shock GBD-200 in France, and it was implied that he is sponsored by G-Shock, although that has not been officially confirmed. Lately, Gane’s top three G-Shock watches appear to be the black and green Mudmaster GWG-1000-1A3, stealth black GX-56BB-1, and black and white GBD-H1000-1A7. (The GXW-56BB-1ER was recently released in Europe.)

Gane’s association with G-Shock is definitely a boon for the brand. The UFC audience greatly overlaps with G-Shock’s primary target audience. He wears G-Shock watches regularly during highly publicized pre-fight events. He has a likable and genuine personality that does not court controversy. He also demonstrates extreme skill and maturity as a mixed martial artist, emphasizing technique and strategy over brute strength. An experienced kickboxer with a Muay Thai record of 13-0, Gane has only been training in MMA for three years and has the ability to become an even greater fighter than he already is.
