Benicio Del Toro wore a G-Shock DW-5000SS-1 at an Armani fashion show

Benicio Del Toro is one of what we call the “Champions of G-Shock,” which are very famous celebrities who appear to have a genuine love of G-Shock that doesn’t fade over time. The list is very short and includes people like John Mayer, Kid Cudi, and Spike Lee. Del Toro is known to have worn a variety of G-Shock watches over the years, including square models and the GX-56. The last time we saw him wearing a G-Shock was in the film Sicario: Day of the Soldado back in 2018. He made only a few public appearances in the years after that wearing different watches, and there weren’t any more G-Shock sightings until now.

Attending the Armani One Night Only Venice fashion show in September 2023, Del Toro sat in the front row next to Jessica Chastain and Kerry Washington while wearing a G-Shock DW-5000SS-1. It’s likely that the 56 year-old actor appreciates the urban 1980s vibe of the graffiti design on the translucent gray bezel and band. Del Toro is fearless when it comes to his G-Shocks, as he has no qualms about wearing them with a suit or tuxedo and at high-profile events like the fashion show of a legendary designer. That is what makes him a true Champion of G-Shock.
